Tomorrow my kids are celebrating Valentine’s Day at school, and I signed up to bring snacks for my son’s class. Normally I send string cheese, bananas, and water to class with him, but since it is a Valentine’s party I thought cookies were in order, well cookies and cheese. I have to attempt to balance the sugar with protein and fat in hope that the kids won’t have a sugar crash.
In keeping with my norm of quick and easy decorating, I decided to make semi-homemade Valentine cookies.
I used Golden Oreo cookies, white chocolate chips, large conversation hearts, and rainbow sprinkles.
I melted 3/4 of a bag of white chocolate chips in a glass bowl in the microwave for 1 minute then stirred until the chips had melted. Next, I dipped one side of the cookies in the melted chocolate then set them on top of parchment paper. I dipped 6 cookies at a time before topping each one with a conversation heart and adding sprinkles.
The cookies took about 10 minutes to decorate. It’s that quick and easy.
They turned out great, and my son is excited to share them with his friends tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
