One of the several perks of living in Hershey, PA is having access to the many different candies and chocolates that The Hershey Company makes. A quick stop at Hershey’s Chocolate World provided the chocolate ingredients needed to make my latest cake.
Without straying too far from my norm (a quick and easy cake), I decorated the cake with a Hershey theme.
I used two 6 packs of regular size Hershey’s Cookies and Cream chocolate bars and 1 bag of kisses. The cake was a 9 inch two-layer buttermilk cake, frosted with vanilla buttercream.
Before coating the cake in buttercream, I snapped the chocolate bars apart so that there were 3 small pieces together and 2 small pieces together.
I frosted the cake with a medium amount of buttercream. Then, before the buttercream had a chance to crust, I pressed the chocolate bars to the side of the cake.
Don’t worry about smoothing the frosting on the side of the cake or crumb coating. You won’t be able to see the frosting underneath the chocolate bars.
I smoothed the top of the cake using a viva paper towel, and placed the kisses in a spiral design. The black ribbon gave the cake an elegant touch.
I love the simplicity and elegance of this cake. My husband took the cake into work to celebrate a coworkers anniversary. There wasn't a single crumb left. That is the definition of a delicious cake.
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great week.
