Awesome Run and Pumpkin Pie Super Smoothie

Yesterday was one of those days when I needed a good run. Luckily, I had an awesome run and learned a new cake decorating technique from My Cake School.

I thought the black and white Instagram filter would look cool. It looks kind of grungy. And in case you are wondering, I’m in my garage and the laptop is on a tool box. I seriously need a workout room.

I ended up running 3.52 miles in 33 minutes. My plan was to run 4 miles and fit in an HIIT workout, but my husband was able to get home early for me to go to the grocery store.

Yesterday morning I tried a new super smoothie using pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice. It was really tasty.

Pumpkin Pie Super Smoothie IngredientsYes, my husband and I have a serious problem and as crazy as it may appear it is not a drinking problem. It is a procrastination problem. Those are the empty bottles of wine that needed to be logged into our wine app. I don’t even know how long we have been putting it off. Fortunately, my husband logged them all in the app last night. The wine bottles were starting to take over our kitchen.

Ingredients for Pumpkin Pie Super Smoothie

  • ~2 cups of spinach
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 can pumpkin
  • pumpkin pie spice
  • cinnamon (it’s in pumpkin pie spice, I just love cinnamon)
  • 1/2 cup skim milk mixed with 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I use Metabolic Drive Low Carb Protein)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

Directions

Place ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. This made ~4 cups.

Today I’m baking a practice wedding cake. I think I have finally decided on a design and plan to order my supplies later today. It’s been a while since my best friend, amazon, has sent me a package. I almost miss seeing my UPS driver on a biweekly basis.

I’m also trying a new decorating technique. Although, I’m not sure if it will work with with frosting that I plan to use. If it turns out good, I will share the cake/frosting recipe and decorating technique with your tomorrow.

Do you ever deviate from your workout plan?

-All the time. Life gets in the way and I’m always having to rearrange my workouts. If I’m working on a specific goal I try to stick with my plan.
